The Art of Cynthia's Dream |
||
|
|
||
| Why, The Good Steward | ||
| We
are at the local automobile dealership.
There is a crowd of indistinguishable faces forming a circle near
the the showroom. At the center is a college age Cynthia. She is obviously
talking confidently to a man who is much taller and much older.
He stands facing Cynthia with a harsh glare. Both his hands are on
his hips and something in his manner denotes that he believes he has the
upper hand.
There is a man in uniform standing near Cynthia who appears to be
giving Cynthia support. Some of the facial expressions of the crowd are
defiantly gazing at the smirk-faced man while others are looking with
extreme pride to Cynthia as she takes him on. In the background behind
Cynthia is a girl about Cynthia’s age. She is pushing a stroller laden
with an infant -- she has a diaper bag slung over her shoulder. She too,
is staring at the sarcastic-face man with wondering trepidation. |
