Mike
Way was born in Washington D.C. Mike Way began his writing career in
1984 with the publication of his first freelance article in a national
computer magazine. Since 1995 Mike Way has been a consultant for the
nation’s largest consulting firm, Tek Systems, working on
programming projects for Fortune 500 organizations.
During that same period, Mike has continued to publish in many other
venues including newsletters, magazines, and multiple Internet venues. In
recognition for his entrepreneurial achievement, he received recognition
by the editors of Success Magazine
in 1991.
Mike
Way has traveled extensively speaking to various groups on the tenets of
what it take to be successful as an entrepreneur. In 1989, Mr. Way founded The
Mike Way Agency and Communications Group. The Agency’s mission was to
bring professional marketing services to small and disenfranchised
businesses. The goal was to offer the small struggling businessperson the
means to secure a market share at a fraction the resources needed by
mainstream competitors.
Mike
Way began his professional computer programming career in 1979. In 1982, Mr.
Way founded Creative Computer
Specialists, a custom software house that designed, created, and
implemented custom software for vertical markets across the county. In
1983, Mike Way produced and sold nationally, his first commercial software
package called Church
Information Systems.
Creative Computer Specialist and
its latest version Congregational
Information Systems,
CIS2000plus,
is still thriving and selling today, as it is among the oldest and best
software packages used by churches today.

software titles produced by Creative
Computer include:

The Success Trip
In
1990, Mr. Way was asked to write an article on the motivational speaking
craze. As the article neared completion, Mike Way informed his editors
that the article had the ‘legs’ to become a book, and so began his
first non-fiction volume titled, The
Success Trip. Completed but never published, the book is now in
re-write in preparation for publication as time allows.
Movies, The Reel Deal
web-site
In
the mid 80s, Mr. Way began a newsletter of film reviews. It began as
a hobby. Occasionally, he shared them with friends, than began to receive
request from friends of friends. The Reel Deal was launched
in the 90s and was successfully syndicated in several Internet venues.
Mike closed the website in 1999 when he decided to write movies
rather than write about them. A tiny sampling of his archive
can be viewed by clicking on the link.
As of this date, Mike has written thirteen feature screenplays, two
television pilots, and an existing series script, several of which are in
consideration in the Los Angeles entertainment community and several which he intends to produce himself.
The Decline and Fall Of The United States
of America
In
1992, Mr Way began his second novel, The
Decline and Fall of the United States Of America. Decline is a view of America in real decline. Decline dares to examine bits of disconnected information flagrant
in society today, and connects them into a tapestry that proves that
unless America takes a hard introspective look at herself,... her best
days are past.
STD2104
STD2104
was written between 1994 and 1996. It is a techno-thriller about a secret
Pentagon project gone amok. It is a frightening view of high level
bureaucracy and the government’s resistance to do anything about it. STD2104
is a story of humanity across time and how timeless virtue is. By the way,
the STD in STD 2104 is an
acronym for Space-Time Displacement.
And no, the 2104 has nothing to do with the year 2104
Cynthia’s Dream
Cynthia’s
Dream began on a part-time basis in the late 90's as the result of a story Mike Way was attempting to
tell his nieces and nephews. Little did he know that Cynthia was to define
the moral and ethical scope of both his literary and film career as described in the preface to
Cynthia’s Dream. Cynthia’s Dream was completed in 2002.

For Posterity’s Sake
In
1997, Mr. Way rewrote a story he originally ‘hand wrote’ in 1971
titled For Posterity’s Sake. Posterity
is a contemporary science fiction volume that explores in a dynamic and
peculiar fashion, the question: “what if we are not alone in the
universe.” Posterity was later
rewritten into a feature screenplay. It is the author’s intent to make For
Posterity’s Sake his own feature
executive producer's debut at some time in
the future and as such, will not be submitted for consideration in the Los
Angeles entertainment venues.
Morning Prayer Over Chesapeake – A Love
Story
Morning
is an original screenplay that examines why we choose the people we choose
to marry. It’s an exciting tale of choices, consequences, and ultimate
victory for love itself.
Sentient
If
one thought Y2K was a big deal, one wouldn’t believe the world of Sentient.
Sentient is a techno thriller of a screenplay about a new computer
chip that becomes self-aware. At first things are great but suddenly the
master computer must make a decision between what’s good for it, and
what’s good for its creators... mankind. The battle between the soul of
man and the soul of the machine is incredible, frightening and
exhilarating. Sentient forces
one to ask, “how much and how far should we allow ourselves to swallowed
up by technology?” (Sentient
is being seriously consider by a Hollywood producer as you read this)
The Hunter as the Hunted
Another original
screenplay about a submarine captain, the hunter who suddenly finds
himself hunted. It’s a story that forces the examination of one’s own
values against the backdrop of the ‘system’ and forces personal
morality to take issue with what one’s country perceives is right vs.
wrong. This story could also be called: “the ethical vs. the legal”
Federalies
Federalies
is a pilot for a television dramatic series.
It examines the criminal justice system from the point-of-view of
the judges and district attorneys who must judge and prosecute the accused. Federalies takes a
stark view into the world of crime, intimidation, justice, and the
ultimate moral dilemma, “what if?”
