PRAYER FILMS Annapolis, Maryland: March 22, 2004: Morning Prayer Films, announces principal photography for Morning Prayer Over Chesapeake - A Love Story -, will begin filming in Spring 2005. Written, produced and directed by Mike Way, Morning Prayer Over Chesapeake has been quoted by Hollywood insiders as the best love story since Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal starred in Love Story in 1970. Below are comments from the studio that considered producing but passed on the script: "Morning Prayer Over Chesapeake" is a complex and spirited romantic drama in the same vein of Love Story. It's been a while since we've seen a solid, moving drama that features a love plot at the center and not the periphery of the story. There aren't too many straightforward love stories being made today and "Morning" fills the long missing gap. That
studio and others, considered morally based love stories as risky and
passed on the project. As such, Mike Way decided Morning was
a story that had to be told and made the choice to go it alone immediately
after the release of Cynthia's
Dream. Cynthia is a
novel of a family in benign turmoil that comes to the brink of
self destruction when self-centered self interest cause the core of the
family to implode. Cynthia’s Dream, like Morning, is simply a conversation
with the audience’s heart. Both dare to proffer questions we’ve all had
but were afraid to ask in world where political correctness inhibits the
search for absolute truth. “Morning Prayer Over Chesapeake - A Love Story -” basically examines the premise of love-at-first-sight and positions the emotion directly next to lust-at-first-sight and the so-called mechanically perfect marriage.
